Supporting Youth Clay Shooting Sports in North Texas

Young clay target athletes learn far more than how to break a target. We Buy Your Guns is proud to support youth clay shooting programs that teach safety, discipline, responsibility, teamwork and sportsmanship in a structured, supervised environment.

Our sponsorship at Northlake Shooting Sports

We sponsored a youth clay shooting tournament at Northlake Shooting Sports, a local facility that serves high school shooting teams and clay target athletes throughout the North Texas area. Our sponsorship helped support an event where young athletes could demonstrate their skills, represent their teams and compete in an organized format.

Northlake provides opportunities to practice and compete across several clay target disciplines. The facility has become an important gathering place for school teams, instructors, families, competitive shooters and supporters of youth shooting sports.

Safety, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship

Successful youth shooting programs emphasize much more than competition. Athletes learn to follow instructions, respect range safety procedures, care for their equipment, manage pressure and support their teammates. Those lessons remain valuable long after a tournament ends, which is why we prefer to back organizations that provide responsible instruction and qualified supervision.

Fundraising support beyond competition

Our involvement at Northlake Shooting Sports has also included support for multiple fundraising events held at the facility. These events help participating teams and organizations raise money for real program costs. Our contributions to raffle-style fundraisers are documented on our firearm donations for local fundraisers page.

Program and equipment expenses

Youth clay target programs regularly budget for:

  • Ammunition and clay targets
  • Shotguns, cases, chokes and replacement parts
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Team uniforms
  • Competition entry fees and travel
  • Range access and facility time
  • Coaching and instruction

Equipment is often the largest barrier for a new athlete. A quality sporting shotgun that is no longer being used can remove that barrier for a young shooter, which is why we invite owners, families and estates to donate a sporting shotgun for review.

Why structured youth programs matter

Organized teams give young athletes coaching, defined safety procedures, scheduled practice and a place to compete responsibly. That structure is what makes the sport accessible to families who are new to shooting sports, and it is the standard we look for before supporting a program.

Continuing our support

We plan to continue supporting responsible youth shooting programs and community events in North Texas whenever appropriate opportunities become available. We appreciate Northlake Shooting Sports, its instructors, participating teams, event organizers, volunteers and families for keeping youth clay shooting accessible. Have a sporting shotgun you would like to donate?

A quality over-and-under, trap, skeet or sporting clays shotgun that is no longer being used may help support a youth athlete or local program. Firearm owners, families, estates, collectors and businesses are all invited to submit a suitable shotgun for review. Firearms are never transferred directly to minors, and every transfer follows the required licensed process.

Sponsor a Team, Tournament or Equipment Need

Individuals and businesses can support North Texas youth clay target programs through equipment, entry fees, repairs or event sponsorship.
